Project Description

This project is for the construction of a single span prestressed concrete bulb-tee beam bridge carrying Red Mill Road over North Branch Blacklick Creek in Blacklick Township, Cambria County, PA.  After the 89′ Pratt through truss bridge built in 1895 was closed in 2009 and demolished in 2022 the Merlo team was contracted to complete this structure.  This structure consisted of (4) – concrete bulb-tee beams, spanning 100′.  Architectural surface treatment on abutments and barrier with a stained 8″ random cut stone pattern along with a black powder coated metal railing gives this bridge structure a great look for the community.
