Charles J. Merlo Inc. of Mineral Point has received the project of the year under $5 million in the state of Maryland.
The company received the award for the project of the bridge replacement of U.S. 219 over Cherry Creek about 4 miles south of Oakland, Maryland.
The construction of the bridge was estimated at $1.9 million and was on a tight schedule for completion.
Dan Manges, project superintendent, accepted the award.
